DPR 71 & DPR 62 OPERATOR LICENSING EXAMINATION SCHEDULE Gentlemen:
The purpose of this letter is to request that upcoming operator license examiriations scheduled for the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant, Units 1 and 2 be rescheduled. This request was discussed in a telephone conversation between Mr. Bob Holbrook, License Examinor, NRC Region 11 Operatct Licensing Section and Mr. Bob Poulk, CP&L License Training Manager on July 7,1992.
The Brunswick Plant is currently scheduled to be administered reactor operator (four) and senior reactor operator (nine, including two instant) license examinations by the Nuclear Regulatory i
Commission the week of October 19,1992, The Company requests that the examinations be delayed until the week of December 7,1992, to support outage training for both the license candidates and the current licensed operators, Carolina Power & Light Company also requetts that j-the re examination for the crew which did not successfully compicte the April 1992 licensed l
operator requalification examination be conducted the week of December 7,1992. This should f acilitate using one group of evaluators for both examinations, By letter dated June 15,1992, the NRC requested CP&L furnish the reference materials listed in of that letter to support the planned operator examinations. The materials were requested by August 17,1992 to support examinations the week of October 19,1992. The Company has already forwarded the majority of the requested materials and will provide the remaining materials by October 8,1992 (corresponding to 60 days prior to the proposed l'
December 7,1992 examination date),
By letter dated October 11,1991 (Serial: NLS 91267), Camlina Power & Light Company submitted a response to NRC Generic Letter 91-12 with a ps aposed operator licensing examination sched /s for the Brunswick Plant. The Company intends to conduct future Brenswick Plant examinations in accordance with the examination schedule noted in our response to NRC Generic Letter 91 12 (i.e., April and October of each year).
