Supplemental Response to IE Bulletin 84-02

Dear Sir:

In Reference (b), we committed to replace all HFA relays, used in Class IE Safety Systems, which perform safety-related functions with Century Series HFA relays. This work is currently in progress.

To address the concerns of the subject Bulletin as applicable to other relays with similar type materials in use at our facility, we contacted the vendor of our switchgear and requested that they review the applicability of the subject Bulletin for relays other than HFA relays used on the Seabrook project. Their review did not identify any safety-related relays with similar material problems. We are also proceeding to contact selected relay manufacturers directly.

Should their responses identify any concerns, we will notify Region I.

Very truly yours, m)
