I Significant Deficiency 413-414/84-01 Up-dated Corrective Action December 11, 1984 f-The corrective action pertaining to the study of potentially affected
. piping and downstr'am welds remains as stated in our response of e
October 30,'1984. A resolution will be formulated and any repairs
. initiated by the first scheduled refueling outage for Catawba Unit 1.
The cross-over isolation valves addressed in the final report of October 30, 1984 will not be changed out with an alternate valve design. These valves will, instead, be modified to a packed, one piece stem design using Kerotest supplied parts. This modification
'will eliminate the vibrations that are produced in the current design during reverse flow. The new parts are scheduled for delivery the week of January 21, 1985, with valve modification to follow shortly thereafter. All modifications for Unit 1 and Unit 2 will be complete by March 1, 1985.
