Q INTRODUCTION This Instruction Bulletin is comprised of recommendations which we believe will ensure the most economical mainte-nance cost consistent with satisfactory operation of the MU20E Series Power Plants (MP45 Generating Unit with Outdoor Switchgear Station).
It must be recognized that certain responsibilities for a successful operating program are beyond the control of anyone but the user; such as:

- 1. A11 work scheduledwillbe done in aworkmanlike manner under qualified supervision with the proper tools and adequate facilities.
- 2. Fueloil should meet the specifications listed in Mainte-nance Instruction 1750.
- 3. Lubricating oil used must meet the spscifications in Maintenance Instruction 1752 and must be qualified for use in 645E engines.

- 4. Lubricating oil filter elements should be changed at 500 hours0.00579 days <br />0.139 hours <br />8.267196e-4 weeks <br />1.9025e-4 months <br /> of operation and elements must be of quality equal to original equipment.
- 5. Lubricating oil with over 750 hours0.00868 days <br />0.208 hours <br />0.00124 weeks <br />2.85375e-4 months <br /> of operation should be changed when it has been in the engme for one year.
Lube oil should never be used for more than 1000 hours0.0116 days <br />0.278 hours <br />0.00165 weeks <br />3.805e-4 months <br /> of operation. Oil in service for over one year with less than 750 hours0.00868 days <br />0.208 hours <br />0.00124 weeks <br />2.85375e-4 months <br /> of operation should be qualified for con-tinued use by monthly samples analyzed by a reliable laboratory.
