Unit 1 Docket No. STN 50-528; License No. NPF-34 10 CFR 50.72 Potentially Reportable Item File: 85-056-026: G.I.01.10

Dear Sirs:

The NRC Operations Center was notified at approximately 13:13 MST on January 14, 1985 via the Emergency Notification System of a potentially reportable occurrence related to the inoperability of the fire detection system resulting from a malfunction of the security computer.

As a result of further investigation and evaluation of the occurrence, we have deter-mined that the event was not reportable within the requirements of either 10 CFR 50.72 or 10 CFR 50.73 because at the time of the fire detection system in-operability, a continuous fire watch had already been established in accordance with the PVNGS Technical Specifications. This response is provided to close the record on this occurrence.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.

Very truly yours, A

QL' .
