Dear Sir:

The NRC was notified of a potentially reportable deficiency in Reference (A), Interim Reports were transmitted by References (B) and (D), and Time Extensions were requested by References (C), (F), and (G).

Reference (G) estimated that a Final Report would be available by December 3, 1984.

As stated in reference (F), the overall results of the PVNGS review of this matter and associated testing programs were presented to the NRC on November 13, 1984. However, due to the extensive Materials testing performed, final review of test data is taking longer than originally expected. It is now expected that this information will be finalized by December 13, 1984.

Very truly yours, Q2[0 E. E. Van Brunt, Jr.
