Dear Mr. Martin:
Enclosed is a copy of the final exercise report for the November 1, 1995, full-participation Plume Exposure Pathway joint exercise of the offsite radiological emergency response plans specific to the Oyster Creek Nuclear Power Station.
The State of New Jersey, as well as Ocean County of New Jersey participated in this exercise.
The final exercise report was prepared by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region II staff.
A copy of this report will be forwarded to the State of New Jersey by FEMA Region II.
There was one Deficiency and two Areas Requiring Corrective Action identified during the November 1, 1995, exercise.
The Deficiency was corrected at the Barnegat Municipal Emergency Operations Center on February 29, 1996.
FEMA Region II staff will monitor the status of the two corrective actions (ARCA).
Based on the results of the November 1, 1995, exercise it has been determined that the offsite radiological emergency response plans for the State of New Jersey, and the affected local jurisdictions, specific to the Oyster Creek Nuclear Power Station Site, can be implemented and are adequate to provide reasonable assurance that appropriate measures can be taken of fsite to protect the health and safety of the public in the event of a radiological emergency at the site.
Therefore, the Title 44 CFR, Part 350, approval of the offsite radiological emergency response plans and applicable preparedness measures for the State of New Jersey and the local jurisdictions, specific to the Oyster Creek Nuclear Power Station Site, granted on September 10, 1991, will remain in effect.
