Ladies and Gentlemen-By letter dated December 19,1995, and amended by letter dated January 5,1996, Southern Nuclear Operating Company submitted amendment requests concerning the control room emergency ventilation system. As part of the amendment requests, a one-time extension to the allowed outage times for the control room recirculation filtration system was requested.
During discussions with the NRC Staff, Southern Nuclear has been requested to include an expiration date for the one-time extension. Consequently, the requested technical specifications are being revised to include an expiration date of completion of the Unit 1 14th refueling outage (Spring '97). The revised technical specification pages are attached.
The existing 10 CFR 50.92 Significant Hazards Evaluation is not affected by this change and continues to be valid.
