Dear Sir:
The NRC was notified of a potentially reportable deficiency in the referenced telephone conversation. At that time; it was estimated that a determination of reportability would be made within thirty (30) days.
Due to the extensive investigation and evaluation required; an Interim Report is attached. It is now expected that this information will be finalized by November 15, 1984; at which time a complete report vill be submitted.

Potential-Problem' 7.
.During startup testing of Class 1E, 120V AC inverters furnished by Elgar Corporation;-the inverters IEPNAN11 and 1EPNBN12 blew bridge fuses (A50P200) during loading. Also, the alarm logic board failed during starting of the inverter 1EPNDN14..The inspection and testing of inverter panels IEPNAN11; _1EPNBN12, IEPNCN13; 1EPNDN14 by APS Startiup Engineering is in progress.

Approach To and Status Of Proposed-Resolution 4
The results of. inspection and testing of all Class 1E'120V AC inverters panels in Unit 1 shall be evaluated to determine the a
reportability and corrective action required.
III.
Projected Completion of' Corrective Action and Submittal of the Final Report The complete evaluation and-final report are forecast to be 4
completed by November 15;.1984.
