Dear Sirs:

Attached please find Licensee Event Report (LER) Nos. 85-004-00 and 85-005-00 prepared and submitted pursuant to 10 CFR 50.73.

By copy of this letter we are also forwarding a copy of these LERs te the Regional Administrator of the Region V Office.

These LERs are being submitted in accordance with the schedule discussed by telephone with Roy Zimmerman (PVNGS Resident Inspector) at the NRC Region V Office on the afternoon of February 21, 1985.

Additional information was being developed to determine the root cause of these problems. This information was expected prior to the LER due dates and the preparation and approval of the LERs was delayed with the expectation of incor-porating this information, thus resulting in a delay in submittal.

Information for LER 85-005-00 was not available and as indicated on the LER form, a supple-ment to this report is planned.

A revised LER preparatior, review, and approval schedule has been implemented and will be adhered to thus ensuring that future LERs are submitted in accordance with the scheduler requirements of 10 CFR 50.73.
