Dear Dr. Grace:
By' letter dated July 13, 1984, Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) committed to provide a schedule for HFA relay replacement at the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant.
The' relay replacement for Brunswick-1 is presently scheduled to begin during the Reload 4 Outage (March 1985), and for Brunswick-2 during-
-the maintenance outage scheduled to begin in December 1985. The replacement program has been incorporated into the Brunswick long-range plan in order to more effectively coordinate the implementation of improvements.
In the-July 13,.1984 letter, CP&L also stated that a purchase specification was being written to ensure that Non-Century-Series HFA relays would not be purchased for use.in safety-related systems. Based on a review of existing administrative controls and the implementation of new controls, it has been determined that the development of a purchase specification will not be required.
