Dear Mr. Keppler:

This letter serves as our next interim report pursuant to 10CFR50.55(e)

,concerning power lead gland assemblies furnished by Conax which may suffer from a loss of electrical contir.uity. Previously submitted correspondence on this subject was transmitted October 10, 1984.

Conax has conducted a series of tests on forty power lead gland assemblies that had been returned to them for evaluation of the parameters that may cause this potential defect. Conax is expecting to complete their evaluation and submit results to CEI on February 28, 1985. Following our receipt and review of the evaluation, we will submit our final report on this subject by March 28, 1985.
