/ Chicago Ilknois 60690 October 12, 1984 Mr. Harold R. Denton,_ Director Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation U.S.. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, DC 20555

Subject:

-Byron Generating Station Units 1 and 2 Process Control Program NRC Docket Nos. 50-454 and 50-455 Reference (a): December 5,1983 letter from T. R. Tramm to H. R. Denton.

Dear Mr. Denton:

This is to provide a revised version of the Process Control Program (PCP) for the cement radwaste solidification system at Byron Generating Station. The enclosed program will be implemented to fulfill the require-ments of Technical Specification 3/4.11.3. It has been revised to address comments and suggestions from the tH' Staff. This PCP does not address the polymer radwaste solidification system. The PCP for that system is being submitted separately.

Attachment A to the PCP contains information proprietary to Stock-Equipment Company. It is requested that this information be withheld from public disclosure pursuant to 10 CFR 2.790. Enclosed is a letter dated August 31, 1984, from John R. Leber which identifies the portion of our PCP which is proprietary to Stock. An affidavit to support a determination that sdisclosure of Attachment A, including Figure 1, would cause substantial harm

~to the competitive position of Stock Equipment Company will be submitted shortly.

Please direct questions regarding this PCP to this office.

One signed original and fifteen copies of this letter and the proprietary PCP are provided.for NRC review. Five copies of the proprietary August 31, 1984, letter are also provided. This PCP will be upgraded from time to time. Future revisions will be available for NRC review but will generally not be~ submitted to the NRC.

Very truly yours, 8411090283 841012
