RESULTS OF TELEcHOPIC INTERVIEW WITH !!!LLIAM CUf: HAM AS RECORDED BY NRC INVESTIGATOR D. D. DRISKILL UN SEPTEliCER 12. 1983 At 1800, Septerber 12, 1983, William DUNHAM, former Coatings Quality Control (QC) Inspector at Ccmanche Peak Steam Electric Station (CPSES), 'was reinter-vieweo by hRC Investigator D. D. DRISKILL at DutiHAM was reinterviewed cencerning t'he curren't status of his intention to file a discrimination complaint with the U.S. Department of Labcr (DCL) regarding the circumstances associated with his termination by Brown & Root, Inc., at CPSES.
CUNFAM explained that several days subseg.ent to his allegedly d.iscriminatcry termination by Brown & Rcct, he attempted to telephonically ccntaco P.ay VIRPOLET, Quality Assurance -(QA) Director, Brown & Root, Inc., Houston, Texas.
DUNH/.M stated VIRPOLET was not in. his office, therefere, te (DUNHAM) left a message requesting that VIF.FOLET call him.
DUNHAM stated that later thht day, he vias teiephenically contacted by Peter McCLAIN, Attorney, Brown & Rect, Inc.,
Housten, Texas.
DUNHAM stated he apprised McCLAIN of the circumstances relating to his termination. CUNHAP stated McCLAIN said he wculd 50 tc CFSES.
the next week (September 5-9,1983) and look into the r.,atter anc would then recontact him.
DUf; HAM stated that on September 9,1982, fccCLAih n:et with him and reccrra,encec CLhHAM lock elsewhere for work.
DUNHAM said McCLAIN stated he would need scre aeditional time to review the circumstances relating to DLf; HAM's termination.
CLNHAN said it was obvious that McCLAIN dic r:ct intend to find 4r his (DUNHAM's) favor.
DUf;HA!'. aisc stated that during his rc.eeting with McCLAIN he (DUNHAP) was snct;r. c typewritten ccpy cf the counselling ferr which was purported to be the cccurrent he refused to s*gn on the dcy Fe res terminated.
DUf; HAP said the typec term he was shtwn was rct the same sheet he was asked to sign en the day he was fired.
DbhHAM statec Gorden PURDV had written the counselling nttes en a three-part memoraadum on that cay.
CUf; HAM stated that the typed decurcr.: ccntained many of the sare staterents which were on the three-part memorandum; hcwever, the verbiage was not exactly the same.
