Perry Nuclear Power Plant Docket Nos. 50-440; 50-441 Significant Deficiency Concerning Anchor Darling Globe Valves (RDC 88(84))
Dear Mr. Keppler:
As stated in our letter to you dated January 27, 1984, the corrective action taken to correct a defect in the antirotational setscrew on four Anchor Darling Globe Valves was to be completed for all affected valves by September 15, 1984.
While repairing the remaining two valves, it was discovered that replacement valve stem keys supplied by Anchor Darling for use in these two valves were oversized.
As a result, the stem collar could not be placed on the valve, delaying implementation of our corrective action.
It is now anticipated that the corrective action for all valves will be completed by October 26, 1984.
