Dear Ms. Garde:
This is in further response to your letter dated January 18, 1984, in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, documents regarding Region II and/or the Office of Investigation inspection / investigation of the issues raised by Mr. Langley and the three in camera witnesses who testified in the Catawba licensing proceeding.
The documents listed on Appendix A are being placed in the NRC Public Document Room,1717 H Street, NW, Washington, DC.
You may obtain access by presenting a copy of this letter or by requesting folder F0!A-84-48 in your name.
The documents listed on Appendix B are being withheld in their entirety pursuant to Exemption (7)(A) of the Freedom of Information Act (5 U.S.C.
552(b)(7)(A)) and 10 CFR 9.5(a)(7)(1) of the Comission's regulations.
Release of these documents would interfere with an ongoing enforcement proceeding.
Pursuant to 10 CFR 9.9 of the Commission's regulations, it has been determined that the information withheld is exempt from production or disclosure, and that its production or disclosure is contrary to the public interest. The persons responsible for this denial are the undersigned and Mr. James P. O'Reilly, Regional Administrator, Region II.
