l The Georgia Power Company of fers the following information in response to your letter dated January 16, 1979, describing an apparent noncompliance with NRC requirements noted during your November 11 - December 15, 1978, inspection of the Hatch Nuclear Plant.
Technical Specification 6.8.1 requires in part that wiltten procedures bo implemented. Hatch Nuclear Plant Procedure No.12. Plant OperatinE Ordars, requires in Section 3.1 that the Shif t Foreman be responsible for seeing that standing orders are carried out.
Contrary to the above, standing order NNP-2-78-5 dated March 13, 1978, requiring monthly readings on pressurized containment penetrations had not been performed.
Standing order NNP-2-78-5 was immediately performed by Maintenance per-sonnel and acceptable results received.
Department personnel responsible for taking data required by standing order 10lP-2-78-5 and the Shif t Foreman have l
been instructed to ensure compliance of NNP-12 procedure.
Standing order NNP-2-78-5 has been subattted to the Plant Review Board as a plant procedure.
ic'#-2-3124, and will be issued for use by February 15, 1979.
The inspection report contains no information which is believed to be proprietary.
