SUMMARY

l MONTH MARCH 1996 The Hope Creek Generating Station commenced start up after the Sixth Refueling Outage at 0627 hours0.00726 days
0.174 hours
0.00104 weeks
2.385735e-4 months
on ;

j March 18,1996 when the operators moved the mode switch to " start up." Criticality was achieved at 1350 l hours on March I8,1996. The initial synchronization of the unit was at 0141 hours0.00163 days
0.0392 hours
2.331349e-4 weeks
5.36505e-5 months
on March 25,1996. At l 1025 hours0.0119 days
0.285 hours
0.00169 weeks
3.900125e-4 months
the generator was removed from senice and the post-outage overspeed test was successfully performed. At 1219 hours0.0141 days
0.339 hours
0.00202 weeks
4.638295e-4 months
on March 25,1996 the unit was resynchron;2cd and power ascension resumed.

The outage was officially ended when 100% power was achieved at 2220 hours0.0257 days
0.617 hours
0.00367 weeks
8.4471e-4 months
on March 29,1996. This resulted in unplanned off-line energy losses of 471398.7 MWHRS (96-04) for the outage extension, planned off-line energy losses of 174161.2 MWHRS (96-05) for the start-up, and planned on-line losses of 77460.1 l MWHRS (96-06) for the power ascension.

l A stuck TIP probe, rod adjustments, and weekly turbine valve survcillances occurred between 0805 hours0.00932 days
0.224 hours
0.00133 weeks
3.063025e-4 months
on March 30,1996 and 1318 hours0.0153 days
0.366 hours
0.00218 weeks
5.01499e-4 months
on March 31,1996. These activities caused 2187.2 MWHRS of unplanned energy losses (96-08) and 150 MWHRS of planned energy losses for the surveillance (96-07).

On March 31,1996 between 1630 hours0.0189 days
0.453 hours
0.0027 weeks
6.20215e-4 months
and 1800 hours0.0208 days
0.5 hours
0.00298 weeks
6.849e-4 months
power was reduced to remove 6C Feedwater Heater 1 from senice for maintenance. This resulted in 39.1 MWHRS of unplanned losses. (96-09) l j As of March 31,1996 the unit had been on-line for seven days. l 1
