l Gentlemen:
VIRGINIA ELECTRIC AND POWER COMPANY l
NORTH ANNA POWER STATION UNITS 1 AND 2 RESOLUTION OF GENERIC LETTER 93-04. ROD CONTROL SYSTEM FAILURE AND WITHDRAWAL OF ROD CLUSTER CONTROL ASSEMBLIES.10 CFR 50.54(f)
On January 17,1995, Virginia Electric and Power Company responded to a request for additional information pertaining to the resolution of NRC Generic Letter 93-04, Rod Control System Failure and Withdrawal of Rod Cluster Control Assemblies,10 CFR i
50.54(f). In our response, we provided the schedule for implementing the current order timing modifications and the new current order surveillance tests recommended by the Westinghouse Owner's Group. In your letter dated August 17,1995, our corrective actions and schedule were accepted and you requested that the NRC be informed in writing when implementation of corrective actions was complete.
This letter is to inform you that the current order timing modification was satisfactorily implemented during the 1996 Unit 1 refueling outage. The recommended surveillance testing was previously performed at the conclusion of the North Anna Unit 1 refueling outage ending in October 1994 and was also satisfactorily performed following the implementation of the current order timing modification.
It should be noted that your letter dated August 17,1995, acknowledged that corrective actions had previously been implemented on North Anna Unit 2 during the 1995 refueling outage. Therefore, corrective actions associated with NRC Generic Letter 93-04 are complete for North Anna Units 1 and 2.
If you have any questions, please contact us.
Very truly yours, L$)
