SUPPLEMENT TO REPLY TO NOTICE OF VIOLATION Gentlemen:
This is to inform you of an inadvertent error as it appears in the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant's May 27,1992 response to Notice of Violation 92-04. On page 5 in the section addressing corrective actions which have been taken, the statement is made that a revision to the original Short Term Structural Integrity (STSI) engineering evaluation was performed to include a safety evaluation addressing the impact of temporary blind flange installation on the operabl!!!y of the Residual Heat Removal (RHR) system. In actuality, although the STSI evaluation was revised to incorporate a safety evaluation prior to submittal of the response, final management approval of the evaluation did not occur until June 30,1992 due to the time required to resolve management comments The safety evaluation determined that the I
temporary installation of blind flanges did not adversely impact the capability of the B loop of the RHR Service Water system to perform its intouded safety function.
