Docket No. 50-361 Special Report San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Unit 2 and 3 Pursuant to Section 6.9.2 of-Appendix A, Technical Specifications to Facility Operating License NPF-10 and NPF-15 for San Onofre Units 2 and 3, respectively, this submittal provides the re' quired 14-day Special Report for inoperable radiation monitoring-instrumentation.
On November 9, 1984, at 1330, with Unit 2 in Mode 6 and Unit 3 in Mode 5, Purge / Vent Stack Wide Range Monitor 2RE-7865 was removed from service for planned design modifications and 18-month surveillance testing. When Unit 3 entered Mode 3 on November 30, 1984, in accordance with Limiting Conditions for Operation (LCO) 3.3.3.6, Table 3.3-10, Action Statement 22, the pre planned alternate method of monitoring was initiated. The alternate monitoring shall remain in effect until the completion of the maintenance on 2RE-7865, scheduled for January 30, 1985.
