Dear Mr. Denise:
High Range Containment Area Monitor Calibration NRC Open Item 285/8226-17 In July 1983, the Omaha Public Power District committed to completion of high range calibration of RM-091A and RM-091B by the end of the 1984 refueling outage.
Subsequent to that commitment, the District investigated source availability.
This investigation revealed that the monitor manufacturer (Victoreen, Inc.) was in the process of designing and prepar-ing to produce an appropriate source to do the calibration of RM-091A and RM-091B.
Based on this information, a pur-l l
chase order was issued to Victoreen, Inc. on December 22, 1983 to purchase the source.
Victoreen, Inc. quoted a six-month minimum lead time from the date of purchase order re-l ceipt, thus making the earliest possible delivery date after June 22, 1984.
The District has not yet received the source.
The District advised Mr. Bill Johnson of your staff of this on May 31, 1984 and proposed a revised commitment date.
