Interim Notification of a Potentially Reportable Issue Pursuant to 10CFR21 (Supplement 1)
Gentlemen:
The enclosed Interim Report was submitted to the NRC on 16 March 1992 in accordance with 10 CFR Part 21 requirements contained in the Federal Register, Vol. 56, No. 147, Wednesday, July 31, 1991.
The BW/IP evaluation of ef fect of the reported deviation for other valves containing P/N 72543 is in its final stages but will not be completed in time to submit a report on 16 June 1992.
We anticipate this report will be delayed by three weeks.

20555 Electric Station 10CFR21 Report P21R-92-001 DESCRIPTION:
On 16 January 1992, BU/IP vas notified by TU Electric of a reportable deficiency involving check valve P/N 72543 (swin5 arm) on Borg-Warner Model No.-75510 3" - 900 lb. swing check valve.
BV/IP has evaluated the reported defect and concludes the replacement swing arm is equivalent in fit, form, and function to the original part.
P/N 72543 (swing arm) is used in other valve sizes.
BW/IP has identified these valves a:.d is evaluating whether a reportable deficiency exists.
ADDITIONAL ACTIONS PLANNED:
BV/IP evaluation vill be completed no later than 16 June 1992.
