Clarification of Response t o Combined Inspection Nos. 50-443/84-12 and 50-444/84-06

Dear Sir:

We feel it necessary to clarify two statements contained in the referenced response to Combined Inspection Nos. 50-443/84-12 and 50-444/84-06 as follows:

1.

In the origins 1 response, it was stated that P-H had reviewed a sample of completed weld process sheets and found one similar discrepancy on the same process sheet which was the subject of the original NCR.

Further investigation has revealed that the additional invalid signature was on the back of a process sheet for a different weld which was part of the same work package.

2.

The original response stated that as a remedial action, the weld was radiographed and found satisfactory. It was not our intention to infer that the radiography performed was in addition to Code required radiography.

Code required radiography was performed on 8412130140 841207 Drt ADOCK 05000 P.O. Box 300 Seabrook, NH O3874. Telephone (603) 474-9521

' Attention:.Mr. Thomas T. Martin Page 2 both welds in question resulting in one weld being found acceptable and the second requiring repairs. As a result of the Code required radiography performed subsequent to the repair, the weld was found to be acceptable.
