Dear Mr. Stolz:

The reference confirmatory order permitted operation of Peach Bottom Unit 2 for a period of 4,100 hours0.00116 days <br />0.0278 hours <br />1.653439e-4 weeks <br />3.805e-5 months <br /> based on crack growth calculations and overlay repairs performed during the Summer 1983 outage.

Peach Bottom Unit 2 was subsequently removed from service, on April 28, 1984 for a refueling / major modification outage and is expected to return to service in late May, 1985.

Durt.ng this, outage the recirculation. system, residual heat removal system (RHR) suction and return piping within containment, a portion of RHR head spray, ten recirculation inlet safe-ends, two jet pump penetration seals and a portion of the reactor water cleanup system piping were replaced with material lean susceptible to intergranular stress corrosion cracking.

As required by the order contained in Paragraph III of the reference con:!irmatory order, the plans. for ' pipe replacement activities were transmitted to the NRC for review on March 6, 1984 via pgl letter, S. L. Daltroff, PECO to J.
