Hi Jennifer,

I checked some records and found that the DeSoto Townsite archeological site (25WN16) was formally determined eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places by the Nebraska State Historic Preservation Office (NeSHPO) on January 27, 1989 (Inventory of National Register of Historic Places Archaeological Determinations of Eligibility, on file NeSHPO).

I have some familiarity with the site so let me know if you have additional questions.

Thanks Rob Bozell Nebraska State Archeologist

Fort Calhoun Station

Hi David,

My name is Jennifer Davis, and I am an archaeologist with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. I believe we previously worked together on the Clinch River Early Site Permit review. Fort Calhoun Station is located in Washington County, Nebraska. We have a question relating to the eligibility of an archaeological site (former Town of DeSoto). Would it be possible for you to contact me? I tried calling your phone number, but the voicemail system requested my phone number and a pin number.

I can explain my question over the phone.

Thank you,

Jennifer
