Final 10CFR50.55(e) Report; Cracked and Broken Puffer Piston Rods in Brown Boveri Type 5HK Breakers

Dear Sir:

References (b), (c), and (d) addressed a 10CFR50.55(e) deficiency regarding cracked and broken puffer piston rods in Brown Boveri Type SHK circuit breakers. Reference (d) committed to a corrective action of replacing all puffer piston rods in the Unit 1 5HK circuit breakers. This replacement has been completed. As given in Reference (c), this deficiency was not applicable to the Unit 2 circuit breakers.

Since this completes the corrective action, we consider this the final report on this 10CFR50.55(e) deficiency.

Very truly yours,

)
