Enclosed please find a copy of a letter dated February 14, 1984 from the Multi Amp Corporation, States Division who supplied the terminal blocks used on the TDI Diesels. identified in the NRC Information Notice 80-08 (Note that the company name above was misstated as " Gulf States Company" in C.L. Ray's letter to H.R.

Denton of 11/1/84, No: OGTP-475-N-41). This letter is provided as support that the TDI' Diesels for. Comanche Peak (Texas Utilities Generating Company) was not manufactured during tre 1974-1976 period and thus the terminal blocks now in use are considered accej. table.

This letter confirms telecons between R.J. Deese of the Owners Group, D. Persinko of the NRC and Steve' Schoenwiesner of Texas Utilities.

301 Terminal Blocks-DeLaval Panels Gentlemen:

This will confim my conversation with Fred on February 13, 1984 on the subject of 30! Terminal Blocks installed in panels by DeLaval in 6 1979-81 time frame and their applicability to meet your Class 1E requirement.

States 301 Teminal Blocks are manufactured to high standards and our Quality Assurance program is such that we can be certain that 301 Teminal Blocks manufactured in the 1979-81 period are identical with those of 1982-84 period.

Since we do not consider 301 type as anything but a standard grade teminal block there should be no difference in material or construc-tion to that of 30t Teminal Blocks tested under our Nuclear Test Program, which incorporated Itzt:-323-1974 and IEEE-344-1975 standards.
