IP CLINToN POWER STATION, P.O. BOX 678. CLINTON ILLINOIS 61727 March 13, 1985 Docket No. 50-461 Director of Nuclear Regulation Attention:

Mr. A Schwencer, Chief Licensing Branch No. 2 Division of Licensing U.' S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, D. C. 20555

Subject:

CAinton Power Station Unit 1 Scismic Qualification Outstanding Issue #7

Dear Mr. Schwencer:

In Clinton SSER#2 dated May 1983, the NRC requested that Illinois Power Company (IP) provide the NRC Staff a bi-monthly report of equipment seismic qualification and installation status to assist in their scheduling of a Seismic Qualification Review Team (SQRT) audit.

In recent communications with your staff and reviewers on this issue, they stated that it is no longer necessary to provide these updates on a bi-monthly basis and that a report six (6) weeks prior to the projected audit date of July 1985 would be sufficient.

Illinois Power Company agreed to provide that report.

Please contact us should you have any questions on this matter.

Sincere 1 B ours.
