Dear Dr. Murley:

CORRECTIONS TO RECORD SIGNIFICANT CONSTRUCTION DEFICIENCIES HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION In light of your recommendation No. 3 on page 13 of the Hope Creek SALP Report for 1983-84, we have initiated a review of our correspondence with your office for the period January 1, 1984, to date.

During this review we have identified the below listed corrections to record.

1.

PSE&G letter, dated September 28, 1984, regarding defects in lube oil pump discharge nozzles (CDR No. 84-00-07),

references Nonconfor:aance Report No. 3926.

This number should read 3826.

2.

PSE&G letter, dated January 21, 1985, concerning incompatible grease added to Limitorque operators (CDR No. 84-00-16),

identifies the added grease as Exxon Nebula EP-2 grease.

This should read Exxon Lidok EP-2 grease.

Also, we wish to add Exxon Nebula EP-1 grease to the list of greases which i

Limitorque operators were shipped with from the manufac-turer.

The litmus paper test, then, was used to distinguish the Exxon Lidok EP-2 grease from the Exxon Nebula EP-1 grease which is of similar coloration.

We have evaluated these corrections and conclude that they have no impact on the reported deficiencies, our safety analyses or the corrective actions taken.

We have made pen and ink corrections "m
