SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCES Highlights Vermont Yankee operated at 87.7% of rated thermal power for the month. Gross electrical generation was 346564 MWH or 86.1 % of design electrical e

capacity.

Operating Summary The following is a chronological description of plant operations including other pertinent items of interest for the month:

At the beginning of the reporting period,-the plant was shut down to repair a MSIV valve actuator.

841001 At 2253 hrs. the reactor was critical.

841002 At 0921 hrs. the turbine generator was phased to the grid.

841023 At 0140 hrs. commenced a plant shutdown due to both emergency diesels being out of service.

j 841023 At 1820 hrs. required repairs were completed and a power ascension was initiated.

841026 At 1143 hrs. a power reduction waa initiated for a control rod pattern adjustment and other testing.

4 841026 At 1930 hrs. a return to full power was initiated.

At the end of the reporting period, the plant was operating at 99.8% of rated thermal power.
