Dear Sir:
By letter dated December 13, 1991, thL NRO issued Inspection Report No. 50-269/91-31, 50-270/91-31, and %-287/91-31 with a Notice of Violation.
Pursuant to the provision of 10 CFR 2.201, a written response to the violation identified in the above inspection report was submitted February 18. 1992.
,Within_ the violation rest.onse, Oconeo _ committed to reraove and dispose of contaminated asphalt loce'ed in high traffic areas within-the protected-area.
This was to be completed by September 1, 1992.
chis letter is to advise you tnat the contaminated asphalt has been removed and placed.In approved containers.
These containers will be buried in the Oconeo Site Landfill upon receipt of-a permit from the South Carol'ina. Department of llealth and Environmental Control.
It is anticipated that the permi' willL be received and the material buried by March,1993, until. the permit-is
- received, the contal'aors are being controlled in a locked radioactive-material storage area.
