10 CFR 50 APPENDIX R REANALYSIS The Appendix R reanalysis for the North Anna Power Station consists of two volumes.
Volume I consists of an introduction and summary, description of fire areas, safe shutdown analysis, compliance summary, and description of alternative shutdown systems.
Volume II contains descriptions of modifications and exemption requests. Volume II has already been submitted to you (ref: our May 1, 1984 (Serial No. 231) and October 31, 1984 (Serial No.
231B) letters).
In our July 31, 1984 letter (Serial No. 431), we committed to submit Volume I by February 28, 1985.
However, during our final review of that document, we identified format and editorial concerns that needed to be corrected. Because of its large size, the corrections could not be completed in time to meet the February 28, 1985 commitment.
This matter was discussed with the NRC North Anna Project Manager on February 27, 1985.
At that time, we committed to submit Volume I no later than March 7, 1985.
In fulfillment.of that commit-ment, enclosed are ten copies of the North Anna 10 CFR 50 Appendix R Report, Volume I.
Additional copies are available upon request.
