File Revision No.

O Date October 22, 1984 1.

Level 1 classification of Observation:.

Not significalit to safety.

T Additional infomation required *See 5, " Recommendation for resolution"'

Significant to safety, send to Level 2 Committee s.

- 2.

Structure (s), system (s), or component (s) involved:

Class 1E-ac electrical system 3.

Description of Observation:

FSAR Figure 8.3-6 shows that non-Class IE components are electrically isolated from'the Class 1E system by two acceptable isolation devices for power circuits.

(See continuation sheet)

~

4.

Significance of Observation:

There is a potential that a fault in the cynchroscope, which is a non-safety related component, could degrade the Class 1E power supply.

5.

Recommendation for resolution (optional):

S&L should provide an explanation of why this discrepancy occurred, and an assessment of its safety significance.

S&L should justify the adequacy of the circuit design to meet the design requirement.
