Attention: Mr. James P. O'Reilly Gentlemen:
In our previous correspondence on this subject, Georgi ~a Power Company indicated that the NRC would be advised on or before August 3,1984, of the schedule to resolve this concern.
Since our May 24, 1984, letter, Georgia Power Company has rein-spected approximately 150 additional welds.
An aaditional 150 welds are currently scheduled for rc-excru1 nation and this effort will be concluded in September 1984.
It is anticipated that the engineering evaluation of the reinspection results could take an additional twelve to sixteen weeks.
Based upon this information, Georgia Power (,ompany expects to complete its evaluation of this concern and notify the NRC of the evalua-tion results by December 21, 1984.
This response contains no proprietary information and may be placed in the NRC Public Document Room upon receipt.
