Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Unit 1 Docket No. 50-41 License No. NPF-3 File: 0260/L-835.0 Special Report 84-032/0, Control Room Temperature Exceeded Technical Specification Limit AECM-84/0435 On August 1, 1984 through August 5, 1984 and on August 9, 1984, the temperature of the Control Room exceeded the Technical Specification limit of 77"F for a period of more than eight hours. The maximum temperature in the Upper Control Room was 81*F.
The limit was exceeded a total cumulative time of 4 days and 16 hours1.851852e-4 days <br />0.00444 hours <br />2.645503e-5 weeks <br />6.088e-6 months <br />. The maximum temperature in the Main Control Room was 79'F.
The limit was exceeded a total cumulative time of 3 days and 13 hours1.50463e-4 days <br />0.00361 hours <br />2.149471e-5 weeks <br />4.9465e-6 months <br />.
All Control Room equipment is qualified to at least a maximum of 90*F, therefore, there was no effect on the availability or operability of equipment within this area.
Because the Control Room equipment is qualified to at least 90*F, a change of the 77'F limit to a 90'F limit has been requested to the GGNS Technical Specifications.
This is being submitted as a Special Report pursuant to Technical Specification 6.9.2 and 3.7.8.
