INDEPENDENT DESIGN REVIEW OF LI)ERICK GENERATING STATION #1 J CORE SPRAY SYSTEM I Bi-Monthly Status Report #7 Period Ending August 31, 1984 a Introduction This is the seventh bi-monthly status report. Eis report docunents information concerning the independent design review of Limerick's Core Spray Systen. Re work performed covers the period August 16, 1984 to August 31, 1984.

Surunary TASK A DESIGN PROCEDURE REVIEW Complete.

TASK B DESIGN PROCEDURE IMPLEMENTATION REVIEW

- Subtasks B1 through B3 are complete.

B4 he review of docunents fran the original workscope was completed. Work is in progress to review docunents for the expanded Task C workscope.

B5 he suunary report was drafted but issuance is being held until the review associated with the expanded workscope is completed.

TASK C TECHNICAL REVTFw ,

Subtasks C1 and C2 are complete.

C3 No change.

C4 he initial review of the original work scope has been completed.

Design docunents were obtained from BPC for the review of local contairrnent areas, and the review is in progress.

i Independent calculations were prepared to assess the impact of C5

two PFRs. Rese calculations were completed and checked, and will be attached to the respective PFRs.

C6 he first drafts of most review evaluation reports have been completed. We task sumnary report will be based on these drafts. Final reports are generally completed after final classification of any PFRs affecting the subject of the report has been made.

TASK D PHYSICAL VERIFICATION All work on Task D is complete.  ;

TARK E POTENTIAL FINDINGS Tasks E1 through N3 are complete.

During this reporting period six potential finding reports were l initiated. ho of these were issued on Task A, and related to  ;

review and approval of design docunents. Four PFRs on Task C related to analytical inconsistencies.

De Findings Review Cmmittee convened during this period and classified eight PFRs.

TASK F ADMINISTRATIVE AND REPORTING he sunmary of projected vs. actual manpower graph was reviewed, and is attached hereto.

Total manhours spent on Task D will exceed the original estimate because of the work required for review of audit prograns in the area of design control. Eis was not part af the original proposal workscope or estimate, and required considerable time at PECo, Bechtel, and GE sites. .
