Shoreham Nuclear Power Plant, Docket No. 50-322-OL-3 (Emergency Planning)
Dear Administrative Judges:
o Attached hereto you will find the Suffolk County Response to the NRC Staff's Motion for Extension of Time to respond to LILCO's summary disposition motion on the legal authority issues.
As explained in the response, the County does not oppose an extension for the Staff filing until October 1 or 8, provided that the State and County cre granted an extension of time to file until September 24.
Time is obviously of the essence, since under the present schedule all responses to LILCO's motion are due next Monday, September 17.
Therefore, the County respectfully requests the Board to attempt to rule on this matter as quickly as possible (a ruling today would be especially helpful in the allocation of resources to various tasks).
The County's counsel are available for a conference call if the Board deems such to be necessary.
