Gentlemen:

SUBJECT:

Completim af Generic Letter (GL) 88-17 Actions In Reference 2,

Omaha Public Power District 0 PPD provided plans for installation of two instrumentation enhancements be(yond)GL 88-17 requirements, a Shutdown Cooling Low Flow Alarm, and Suction Pressure Indication at the Low Pressure Safety Injection (LPSI) and Containment Spray (CS) Pumps. Reference 3 requested that OPPD inform the NRC when the modifications were completed.

As noted in Reference 4,

OPPD revised the enhancement plans to cancel installation of the LPSI/CS Suction Pressure instrumentation. The NRC requested additional information in Reference 5; this was provided and discussed in a telephone conversation on February 6,1992 between OPPD and Messrs. S. D. Bloom and W. C. Lyon of the NRC.

The Shutdown Cooling Low Flow Alarm instrumentation was installed during the 1992 Refueling Outage. All actions associated with GL 88-17 for Fort Calhoun Station are therefore considered complete.
