'(1) Letter, J. G. Haynes (SCE) to USMRC Document Control Desk, dated February 28, 1984, Licensee Event Report No.84-002 (2) Letter, J. G. Haynes (SCE) to USNRC Document Control Desk, dated Ju::e 21, 1984, Licensee Event Report No.84-023 Reference (1) provided the required 30-day Licensee Event Report (LER) for occurrences involving the spurious actuation.of the Containment Purge Isolation System (CPIS). We also reported that a revised LER,: identifing the cause of the event and the corrective action taken, would be issued by August 31, 1984.
However, as a result of similar spurious actuations of the Control Room Isolation System (CRIS), reported in Reference (2), we have expanded our
. investigation into noise spikes to include both CPIS and CRIS monitors. We have retained a contractor, specializing.in noise reduction, who is evaluating monitor performance data. This investigation will not be completed until December 31, 1984, at which time revisions to LER 84-002 and 84-024 will be submitted.
