The preposed changes are part of the corrective action for Notice of Violation document ed in Re f ern:ca 1 r eini m! to o return to critien11ty eveat occurring on Decerr.ber 30, if'91 during a controlled shutdovn.

Problems with the Sonren Range Monitor (SRM) surveillancn requirement.s were identified in Reference 2 as a cont ributor to this event.

The proposed changns described in Attachment 2, items 3.3 and h.4 clarify SRtt opernbility and surveillance requirements and item B.2 provides s specific 4.0.4 exception to allow parformance of those survoillances af t.or platit operation in OPERATIONAL COND!fl0N 1.
