Dear Mr. Schwencer:
I am writing this letter to request a two day extension for the Department of the-Public Advocate to respond to the Draft Environmental Statement (DES) related to the operation of the Hope Creek Generating Station. As I mentioned to you in a letter of July 31, 1984, Joseph H.. Rodriguez, thEcPublic' Advocate of the State of New Jersey, is the only intervenor in the operating license-proceedings.for.the, Hope. Creek Gene-rating Station.- In.the Matter.of.Public. Service. Electric and Gas Company _ (Hope Creek Generating Station, Unit 1) , Docket No. 50-354-OL.
At the time of our July 31, 1984 letter, we had already begun our review of the draft environmental statement, and we are requesting an extension based on our continuing effort to complete this review of the DES and provide appropriate comments to the NRC. We are now in the final stages of the process of writing these comments. A two day extension will enable us to complete the comments and Federal Express them directly to your office.
