1 SPECIAL REPORT CATAWBA NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT 1 Vibration and Loose Parts Monitoring System Channel 7 On March 6,1 1992, Channel 7 (Steam Generator C) of the Vibration and loose Parts Monitoring System was declared inopeiable due to a 60 Hz ei se on the channel. A work request has been written to repair the channel during a future outage of sufficient length.

This is being scheduled for an outage because a containment entry is necessary to make the

pair. Channel 11, which is the other Steam Generator C channel, is functioning and provides coverage, Since the channel has been inoperable for more than 30 days, it is reportable to the NRC pursuant to Technical Specification 3.3.3.9.
