Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
The subject report, transmitted by my letter of March 23, 1984, stated that corrective action for Unit 1 was expected to be complete prior to fuel load.
The corrective action for this deficiency involves inspection of the over-speed govenor and fuel transfer pump drive hubs. As part of the TDI Owner's Group, we are currently carrying out a comprehensive program of inspection and testing of the Catawba Unit 1 Diesels. This program is to be completed prior to initial criticality, and we have incorporated the corrective action for this deficiency into its schedule.
