Docket No. STN 50-482 Subj: Withdrawal of Potential 10CFR50.55(e) - Pinholes in Charcoal Adsorber
Dear Mr. Johnson:
This letter withdraws the potential 10CFR50.55(e) concerning pinhole leaks and base metal cracks in the laundry and hot shower charccal adsorber at Wolf Creek Generating Station. This matter was initially reported to you by Mr. H. K. Chernoff of Kansas Gas and Electric Company (KG&E) on June 18, 1984.
Further review of this concern has revealed that the deficiencies would not have affected adversely the safety of operations of Wolf Creek Generating Station and would not have created a safety hazard to the general public. Therefore, KG&E concludes that this matter is not reportable pursuant to 10CFR50.55(e)/10CFR21 and withdraws the potential report made on June 18, 1984.
Although this concern is not reportable, KG&E has reworked the charcoal adsorber and corrected the identified deficiencies.
