Seismic Positioner Plates on DS-416 Breakers
Dear Mr. Hunter:
This letter provides the final report on a potential 10CFR50.55(e) con-cerning seismic positioner plates on Westinghouse DS-416 reactor trip breakers supplied to Wolf Creek Generating Station. This matter was initially reported to Mr. William Johnson of the Nuclear Regulatory Com-mission, Region IV, by Mr. O.L. Maynard of Kansas Gas and Electric Company (KG&E) on March 27, 1984.
During a field inspection of the four DS-416 reactor trip breakers, it was observed that the required seismic positioner plates had not been installed on these breakers. The omission of the seismic positioner plates could possibly have limited the ability of the reactor trip breaker assemblies to perform their function during a seismic event. In order to alleviate this concern, seismic positioner plates were provided by the breaker manufacturer and installed in the reactor trip breaker assenblies.
The aforementioned corrective action has been completed.
