_'In response to IE Bulletin 84-02, drawings and specifications were
. reviewed to verify the' location of all HFA relays manufactured by General' Electric--Company used at the Clinton Power Station (CPS).
In
- all,-528 HFA relays were. inspected and one hur. dred eight.(108) out of
~
_one hundred fifty-nine_(159) relays in safety-related applications were found;to have Lexan coil assemblies. These will be replaced with the 1, _
- Century Series HFA relays prior to the initial fuel load date. The remaining safety-related HFA relays were found to contain propar coil
- assemblies (Century Series).-
All_ relays used in safety-related applications at CPS will be
,4
- - qualified under programs that satisfy-the environmental and seismic
' criteria'specified in the IEEE-323-1974 and IEEE-344-1975 standards. An
' existing plant procedure (CPS 0AP1008.01N) ensures that all safety-related spare or_ replacement parts are identified and controlled thus preventing the replacement of safety-related relays with unqualified y.
models.
