l ATTACHMENT A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION
"...In reviewing the actions described in your January 31, 1984 communication to the NRC, it did not appear that the commitments made by APS had been communicated to the responsible APS organization units in a timely manner. This resulted in some instances in the need to revise completion schedules due to a delayed awareness of completion dates by some organization units..."
RESPONSE TO REQUEST FOR INFORMATION The recent reorganization of the APS Nuclear Organization provides a consistent and uniform manner for ensuring prompt and accurate notification, evaluation and correction of identified deficiencies.
Specifically, the Licensing Department has been established as the single point of contact between APS and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The Licensing Department is responsible to receive all NRC correspondence, including inspection reports, assign action to the responsible organization within PVNGS, disseminate the appropriate information, coordinate and approve the response and track the resulting action item to ensure proper resolution in a timely manner.
The Corporate Quality Assurance Department will be delegated the responsibility to act as the contact between APS and the NRC during NRC Inspections. Corporate Quality Assurance will provide the interface for entrance and exit meetings, and escorts as required to ensure NRC Inspectors discuss technical matters with the appropriate personnel.
This action shall be completed by July 15, 1984.
