Dear Sir:
The NRC was notified of a potentially reportable deficiency in the referenced telephone conversation. At that time, it was estimated that a determination of reportability would be made within thirty (30) days.
Due to the extensive investigation and evaluation required, an Interim Report is attached. It is now expected that this information will be finalized by August 24,1984, at which time a complete report will be
-submitted.

--Pipe ' support M13-AF-005-H-007 Rev.1 was installed and accepted in
- Unit _2 by Field Engineering and Quality Control in November, 1981.
The existing-documentation required the miscellaneous steel to be
~
linstalled at an elevation'of 85' -0 3/4" and the beam attachment of '
~
i the ; sway strut.to be welded to the miscellaneous steel on the north and south sides. ' Documentation was prepared in March 1984 to-
' partially disassemble this support for piping-rework. Upon
-completion.of the piping work and reassembly of the support, two l discre pancie in the original' installation'were noted in NCR PC-8250:
1.'The: miscellaneous steel.is installed at elevation 85'

- 2.' The rear bracket is welded on the east and vest sides.
