Dear Mr. Keppler:

In Illinois Power Company letter dated February 14, 1984 (Ref:

Letter D. P. Hall to J. G. Keppler, U-10124), your office was provided an interim report addressing the status of tha subject 10CFR50.55(e) investigation.

It was anticipated at the time that an interim report would be provided in approximately ninoty (90) days.

Illinois Power Company is presently involved in evaluating the need to expand its investigation associated with the Material Traceability issue.

It is anticipated that approximately thirty (30) additional days will be necessary to complete our evaluation and provide an interim report on the issue.

If you have any questions or comments regarding the status of actions taken on this issue, please contact Illinois Power Company.
